So I’ve been doing some reading the last few weekends and have come across a common theme in that you should never be running as the root user. I firmly believe if you know what you’re doing…or don’t know how to do something you’re relatively safe. Any computer literate person knows to lock their screen before leaving your computer to prevent people from not only seeing what’s on your screen but from changing your desktop wallpaper to something like…One Direction…or David Hasselhof.
The point I’m getting at is that nobody should be scared of running as root ALTHOUGH best practice is to run as a normal user and then ELEVATE privileges to a root user or an admin user. Much like wifi networks nobody is safe; someone that has the intent of breaking into your computer will and to them it’s just a matter of what tool(s) to use.
Please download this Hasselhof Wallpaper to use in joint with a simple script that I am making that will change the desktop image for Macs, PCs, and UNIX; there will be different scripts for each DUH!
More To Come…
